Free Spirit is a painting about two horses that are raised together on the same horse farm. Horses are herd animals. They feel safe when their friend/pasture companion is close by. As afternoon arrives, they united. As they walk or trot towards one another they are usually talking to one another with nickers and neighing. Nickers back and forth are basically say that I am happy to see you. Neighing is is a longer, louder high pitch call. If one senses danger and anxiety...they will neigh to warn and call the others to round up. Or, a neigh can be a confident round up to run, play, kick our hills. Horses, in general, have gentle, sweet captivating personalities. They know when they make you happy and they know when they are doing something wrong.
