Description
Grasshopper is a photograph that I took while visiting Baytown, Texas. As we drove along the coastline with the water on the right, I caught a glimpse of several working rigs on the left. There are several slang names for these oil pumps. This is the equipment used to pull the oil from ground and send it to a desired storage area. Since the large head shaped object goes up and down...it has the nickname of grasshopper. It has also been called horsehead, pump jack, pumpin hose and I am sure that there are many more.
