Description
The brown pelican is a favorite among the coastal birds. They have a long oversized bill and large dark body. Pelican feeds by diving into the water for fish. These two pelicans were floating in the Lavaca Bay in south Texas. I added texture to the photo to enhance the natural colors of the bird. The Pelican is the state bird of Louisiana. The adult pelican has yellow feathers on the head, white feathers on the neck and large body with grey and brown. The immature pelican is grey and dark brown.
