Swing High Into The Clouds - Painting by Ella Kaye

A life changing event redirected the course of my life when I was 11 years old. My 6th school year was filled with hope, fear and thousands of new faces. One of those faces was my teacher. She was instrumental to my growth as a student. She told us that we had to pick a poem and memorize it. To my horror, we had to recite it in front of the classroom. I happened upon a poem by Robert Lewis Stevenson titled The Swing. From the cherished memory of that poem, I have painted this girl swinging high into the clouds.
