Description
We were south of Fort Worth, Texas in a town named Cleburne. We passed a dairy farm. The young calf was not afraid of me or the camera. He looks pretty chilled as he was licking those chops.
Many of us are fortunate enough to have heard our grandparents talk about having that one cow for milk. Getting up and milking the cow was a necessity in early America. I have seen and heard my grandmother skimming milk and making butter. When I was young, I tried to milk a cow. However, as a little girl, I was afraid that I would hurt her and the fact that the tit felt so different. When in elementary school, our class actually did make butter.
