Description
Monarch In The Journey photograph by Ella Kaye
I arrived at the Educational Garden located in Victoria, Texas at 7 am. I walked through the garden looking for bird houses that I had seen during a previous visit. I was standing in the quiet when I realized butterflies were flying all around me. They were my favorite butterflies; Monarchs.
For those of us who believe in Jesus the Christ, monarch butterflies are a Christian symbol. Symbolic of hope; life after death; emerging from old to new; new life and new beginning.
Thank you for viewing my artwork: photography and painting.
This artwork is available as print, framed print, canvas art, acrylic print, metal print and greeting card(s).

Lovely detail - I just watched a documentary on Nova this weekend about the epic journey of Monarch butterflies from all over Canada and the northern US all the way to Mexico. They arrive at one spot in Mexico on the Day of the Dead and the people there see them as a symbol of the souls of their ancestors. Seeing the amazing swarms of these beautiful creatures it's no wonder they are such a strong symbol of God's grace and life after death. Fave! Texas is right on the path of their migration - seeing so many must have been amazing!
