Description
Bluebonnets "State Flower of Texas" photo was taken at the La Bahia missions in Goliad, Texas. The flowers were located just outside the mission church. The stone wall is the setting behind the flowers. The wall surrounds the grounds of the historical mission. Bluebonnets were adopted as the official state flower by the Texas Legislature in 1901. It was named for its color (blue) and because the petals resemble a woman's sunbonnet. It blooms in the early spring through central and south Texas. Photography by Ella

Love the contrast of the hard, grey rock wall backdrop and the pretty, vibrant flowers!

LOVE IT! In late 70's early 80's it was the only thing I liked about Texas the flowers that would greet us as we came into the state now I love Texas for the state it is, thanks for bringing back a fond memory Ella xx
