1845 Republic of Texas - Carved in Stone
photographic art by Ella Kaye
1845 - Republic of Texas was admitted to the union as the 28th state.
Majority of Texans wanted the state to be annexed as: the Lone Star Republic.
Both parties declined that request. Sam Houston was the President of the Republic of Texas.
I found this carved stone in Baytown, Texas. Weathered, worn it sits within a rock wall.
