Description
Rice Plantation - Mural Art photography by Ella Kaye.
This is a photo that I took in El Campo, Texas. El Campo is west of Houston on Hwy 59. It is stilled filled with farming and ranchers. This was one of those days that I was headed to take a picture of something else and found this old mural. Right in the city by the railroad tracks is a series of silos. Farmers bring their crops to the site for storage in these silos before going to market. You are viewing only a portion of the mural. It extended all the way down the building. It was a journey of the farmers bringing in their crops and finally delivering them at the warehouse. On another section, it has a quote: "Threshing on J.W. Leach's Rice Plantation, Early 1900s."
I do not know how old the mural is but is very weathered. I left the red color of the metal roof and the actual grass and weed that had grown in front of the painting. It creates and framing and adds color. I only enhanced the color of the photo with digital software.
Purchase: Rice Plantation - Mural Art as a print, framed print, canvas art, acrylic art print, metal print, 5 x 7 greeting card(s) and phone case.
Thank you for your interest in my artwork: Photography and Paintings.
