Description
Addax nasomaculatus ; Critically endangered in it's native country: Sahara Desert, Northern Africa.
It was a wonderful experience to see the addax healthy and playful. I viewed them in an open range habitat. I was fortunate to get several photos of the beautiful creature.
Interesting facts: Their number one predator: hunters
They rarely drink water: they get the moisture they require from their food which is grass.
Addax thrive in new environments; as this one in South Texas.
Their coat varies in color depending on the season.
Patch of brown and white hair forms an ‘X’ shape over their nose.
